Scientific Thinking Book To Read For Testers
I have read a lot of books, also a lot of books on testing, but the more I read, the more I realise it’s not really the books about testing that I learn the most from, it’s the books on related topics. Perhaps because I have to think more while reading such books and mental effort is one important component of successful learning.
One interesting book from the science world is the following one:
I read this one a few weeks ago and I do recommend it to testers because testing is also based on scientific thinking, which is something this books can offer.
It’s not a book that would talk in detail about things but it will give you some insights into how scientists think, how they set up experiements, how they question things. All that has a lot to do with testing.
I can’t help it but I find such a book much more useful than those many books that dedicate entire chapters to boundary value analysis or what not. I think that if you learn to be better at questioning, setting up experiments, you will naturally perform boundary testing as well when needed. But it doesn’t always go the other way.
I hope you will give it a try and learn form it as I did. Enjoy reading.
